I hope you’re all enjoying your day,
I’ve had a lovely day today reading a wonderful book and speaking with work mates followed by some family time. I even made it into the gym after meeting all my deadlines for the day.
Now as I ponder as what to write for my 1st blog I looked at my wrist and realised that I’d spent some time last night messing on with the polar personal training website and the Nike+ website and as we live in a digital world (some may say an Apple world) I have decided to quickly do a write up about the digital equipment I use and some that I am aware of. If they are in bold and red it means you can click it and it will show you my review.
1. Polar FT80
2. Jawbone UP
3. Nike+ FuelBand
4. Nike+ SportsWatch GPS
5. Nike+ SportBand
6. Garmin
7. Apple iPhone, iPod, iPads and Macs
8. Windows
The list could go on and on and on… (I’m not writing about all of these just yet). I will add that I use the iPhone, iPad and Mac apps for personal use and for work for teaching the students regardless of learning level as it can all be adapted.
Over all, digital fitness is a bigger money spinner and could be a great aid in engagement of sedentary people!
I do often wonder if people, myself included spend more time investing the money spend on the item and the effort to upload and input and share on Facebook or Twitter into actioning ideas and buying clean food would be better off? to quote Nike, “Just Do It”…
Have a great day and be loving to yourself and others.
I’m crossing over to Polar after reading this so I’ll tell you what I think!
Great post, I like it!
Great article Deano and I love the videos you’ve embedded. Looking forward to reading more from you soon.
Hi Alex,
Thanks for the feedback and I’ll be uploading more article on a daily basis with more videos!
Deano
You’ve got a fantastic website!
Great article!
The Nike running website is awesome! The coaching and motivational aids are brilliant too.
Very interesting information! Perfect just what I was looking for!
Overall I have been quite happy with my Polar RS300G1. The accuracy is superb, the recording options are excellent and it has been fairly easy to learn to use. The GPS has been accurate and helpful, especially for use in canoes (I paddle a lot, and the GPS feature was my main reason for choosing this model). I have also had very good battery life from the GPS receiver. The negatives? I have large wrists and I wish the strap was longer. There are many times where I would like to wear the watch on the outside of garments or a dry top, and it is not possible for me to do this. I also do not like that the watch strap is not replaceable. I have serious doubts that the strap will out live the watch. Functionally my only gripe is that you cannot view the current time while in any recording mode.
Hi Deano! You didn’t talk about the sport apps to track your performance and runs. I am currently using runtastic and it’s amazing! It would be cool to have your opinion about these types of sport apps also.
Hi Susan,
You’re right I didn’t talk about the apps that track performance and runs as there are loads of them out there! I am actually writing another article that reviews apps for various methods of training so watch out for that as it will be up in the next day or so. It would be great to get your views on the article that I write too.
Thanks,
Deano
Hey Deano! Great idea for an article. I also love how you’ve created a reviews section to the site now. Sweet
Hey Deano, nice post and reviews. I’m thinking of trying the Nike+ SportBand. Thanks for the help.
Great post, thank-you for sharing!
The Polar is a great piece of kit. I’ve been using mine for a few years now and it’s never let me down. It wasn’t cheap but you get what you pay for.
Nike+, Nike+, Nike+!
Good idea Deano. Digital fitness is massive at the moment.
Have you guys thought about adding a forum to your site?
We have Chet but it’s not something we’re going to look at just yet. Thanks for stopping by. Stan
Thanks.
I’d like to read a review from you on the Garmin please.

The Jawbone UP was sooooo disappointing.
I am going to read more about your digital fitness reviews as I am looking for a new polar heart rate watch.
Hi mate! I quite agree with your opinion. I’ve just bookmarked it.
Nike+ for me all day long.
